Thrive Cape Town: A Night of Power, Connection & Leadership - November 2024
The ClarkHouse team is still in awe after being part of the remarkable Thrive Online ‘Night of Fabulous Women’ in Cape Town in November2024. It was an evening of deep connection, courageous conversations, and a celebration of the extraordinary strength that emerges when professional women come together.
A heartfelt thank you to our keynote speaker, Zanele Mdodana, for her electrifying presence and wisdom, and to our incredible panel members, Cheryl Muir and Kristen Storm Wohlberg, for sharing their invaluable insights. We also honour Thrive founders, Liesl McKay and Catherine Magill, for creating a space that fosters empowerment, mentorship, and lifelong connection.
The evening left us with powerful lessons on leading with purpose and lifting others as we rise:
- Mentorship & Sponsorship Matter –Your journey is not just about where you go, but who you bring with you. True leadership is about opening doors for other women, advocating for them in rooms where they are not yet present.
- Lead Like a Coach, Not a Boss – The best leaders empower, guide, and inspire—creating an environment where others can thrive. Leadership is not about control but about fostering confidence and belief in those you lead.
- The Power of Your Tribe – No woman succeeds alone. Build a network that challenges, uplifts, and supports you. As Liesl McKay so powerfully reminded us, echoing Madeleine Albright: "There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women."
At ClarkHouse, we are immensely proud to be a global collaborative partner with TribeL Consulting & The Thrive Project—a partnership that speaks directly to our core purpose: ‘To Rise by Lifting Others.’
This was more than just an event—it was a movement. One that continues to inspire, connect, and empower women around the world. If you weren’t in the room, you were missed—but know that this is just the beginning. Here’s to the next one!
